Tamburo
years ago in a small workshop in Novara, Italy, Tullio Granatello founded the Tamburo brand and independently produced the first five original drum kits, lathe-made from solid maple, paduku, zebrano, wenge and mutenye.
NUOVA – Driven by the desire to discover new sounds and to optimize the production process to make Tamburo instruments affordable for every customer, Tullio introduced the NUOVA model – made of multi-layered frake, poplar and beech and their combinations. Tamburo becomes a larger project and develops, products are shown in trade magazines, at international fairs, etc.
LINEA – Encouraged by the results and the good opinion of the NUOVA set, given by many of his colleagues – drummers, Tullio started the production of another, new model – LINEA – the first multi-walled beech construction, turned only on the edge of the body. In the 90s Tamburo reaches America by sea, where it finds many enthusiasts, and world-famous drummers recognize its value.
OPERA – The first experiments and results obtained during the production of the LINEA set, led Tullio to another breakthrough – the OPERA model. This kit, thanks to a new solution – a built-in reinforcement ring – marked a turning point in how drums were played, listened to and seen.
STUDIO – Constantly searching for new products and feeling the need to reach a larger market, Tullio developed the STUDIO model, the first traditional 7-ply maple kit. This model was designed with a wider audience in mind, who immediately appreciated the quality of its workmanship.
PROEL Group – Tamburo joins the Italian PROEL group. There is a huge growth, new product lines are designed – FORMULA, XD, VINTAGE, ASH. Thanks to excellent distribution, every drummer – from amateur to the most demanding, professional player – now has the opportunity to find their ideal drum kit.
