Chateau was founded in 1979 in Taiwan by Mr. Chang, with the goal of “making musical instruments that are good quality and affordable”. After 10 years, Tenon began to build an instrument factory to increase its chances of development and production capacity. A milestone for Tenon was the establishment of its own brand – Chateau in 1999.
The inspiration for the brand name comes from Mr. Chang’s hometown, which sounds similar to the French word “Chateau” (meaning “castle” in English). The founder wanted not only to evoke the nostalgia of his hometown through this name, but also to express that his brand’s instruments, especially saxophones, are long-lasting and durable – just like castles.
Chateau saxophones are handcrafted from start to finish. Every process – from shaping, soldering, buffing and varnishing to assembly – is carried out under strict quality control in our factory. Therefore, Chateau saxophones have many unique and great features. features such as precise intonation or above-average, resonant, clear sound. One of the most important aspects is their incredible durability.
Chateau is characterized by excellence, unique style, innovation and constant striving for improving quality, development. You will see for yourself that Chateau saxophones will give you more than you could ever expect.
