The history of göldo music is inextricably linked to Dieter Gölsdorf. In 1978, Gölsdorf began selling his own custom-designed replacement parts. He offered them directly to guitarists and sold them at very competitive prices. These parts were branded Rockinger, and the entire venture was a resounding success. Rockinger quickly gained an excellent reputation thanks to its innovative solutions and Gölsdorf’s numerous ideas for the electric guitar.

Products such as the world’s first DIY electric guitar or bass kit, the first P90 humbucker pickup, the first tremolo system with reliable tuning – known as the Tru Tune Tremolo – and many other innovations revolutionized the guitar parts market in Germany at that time. The foundation was laid for what would come later, as a continuation and expansion of Gölsdorf’s work – göldo music GmbH.

In 1991, when Rockinger was already history, Gölsdorf founded a new company called göldo music. Instead of supplying musicians directly, as was the case under the Rockinger banner, göldo music was intended from the outset to operate as a wholesaler, offering customers and manufacturers worldwide high-quality guitar parts and advanced workshop tools.

The story of göldo music only truly took off 10 years later, when Ingo Renner – managing director and soon-to-be co-owner – took over the company and allowed Dieter Gölsdorf to fully concentrate on developing new solutions and parts.

Today, göldo music’s countless designs appear under numerous proprietary brands, including göldo (tremolo systems, pickups, and hardware), Duesenberg (guitars, hardware, pickups, amps, and effects), Diego (guitars, hardware), Roger (guitars, pickups), and—exclusively for Europe—Kluson (tuners and pickups). Today, the online store goeldo.de offers over 2,000 products and has long been the platform of choice for countless guitarists, luthiers, and shops worldwide.

While it all began as a visionary, one-man business in the basement of a former bakery in Hannover, this hasn’t prevented it from growing into a dynamic company employing over 30 people, who daily meet the needs of guitarists and luthiers worldwide.
