Dean Guitars above all is known for electric guitar production and development and on that field they are really successful. Nevertheless, we should remember about really solid acoustic and electroacoustic instruments from this producer, like Exhibition or Performer series, which can be the reasons to get interest in new models equipped with the wings’ logo on headstock. There’s a lot to look at…
We’re receiving four new models in total, two of them, from St. Augustine series has wings’ logo. Acoustic guitars contains spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. So what’s the differences between them? One (Solid Wood Dread CAW TSBS) is equipped in Fishman Isys+ electronic and cutaway body. Second one (Dreadnought Solid Wood SN), on the other hand doesn’t have this options. Both of them are noteworthy for their high quality.
Two remaining models with “D” logo are classical guitars from Espana series. First has cedar top, mahogany cutaway body and mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and DMT G05 electronics with tuner. Full model name is ESPANA CLASSICAL PLUS CUTAWAY SOLID TOP A/E — GLOSS NATURAL.
Second classical model, ESPANA FULL SIZE CLASSICAL — CLASSIC BLACK, finished in black, contains mahogany body and neck, sitka spruce top and black walnut fingerboard, similar to acoustic series it lacks of cutaway and electronics.
Prodipe is French company which is well-known in studio and stage industry. Wide range of products perfectly unites high quality with affordable prices. Last company affair is to produce guitars. They’re made in Asia in cooperation with the best French luthiers.
On Musikmesse 2018 Prodipe was located in business hall, where all boxes for business meetings are located.
In case of Prodipe, place like that guaranteed great environment for guitar presentation, without need to break through the noise which was present in other parts of event. Producer used this very well, displaying lot of instruments that anyone was able to check and play without any disturbance.
Among all products classic guitars deserved special attention – besides great prices they also surprised with quality, comparable with more expensive instruments from other producers. First model – Primera, costs around 140 Euros, and contains lot of great solutions, like graphite enhanced neck, composite fingerboard and ABS binding. This guitar is available in three sizes – 1/2, 3/4 and 4/4.
The second model, Student has a solid cedar top, rosewood fingerboard, maple binding and is finished in satin.
Prodipe also offers more expensive models, directed to more experienced users – Recital 200, Recital 300 and Solist 500. Every of them shows classic constructions, perfect playability and quality for which we are paying half of a price that we would expect.
There are many solutions being presented by FBT at this year’s edition of Prolight + Sound, including some new products and updates. We’ll start with the new HORIZON VHA (Vertical Horizontal Array) series, composed of the VHA406A module (600W + 300W – 133 dB SPL), the VHA112SA (12″) and VHA118SA (18″) subwoofers.
The VHA406A module contains four 6.5“ woofers and 1.4” neodymium compression driver with 2.5“ voice coil. The central waveguide offers a horizontal dispersion of 90° and 20° vertical. It has been designed for perfectly balanced symmetric dispersion. Integrated hardware allows for the connection up to six VHA406A cabinets, with the possibility of adjusting the inclination from 5° to 20°. The system also allows for the creation of horizontal arrays thanks to the new anchor points and the special flybar, able to support up to three VHA406A cabinets.
The VERTUS series has been updated with two new products: VERTUS 406.2A and VERTUS CLA 206A. Both of them have clear improvements regarding portability, with new hardware that is even more robust. The 406.2A version is a Class-D 600W + 300W system, capable of delivering a maximum SPL of 133 dB thanks to the four 6.5″ woofers and a 1.4″ B & C compression driver, with 2.5″ voice coil. The waveguide allows for a coverage of 100° (H) x 25° (V). CLA206A is basicaly the same but with only two 6.5″ woofers.
At the very end we also have the new Vertus CLA 803TB & 403TB.

On Musikmesse 2018, Ketron presented two, new models of their flagship product, Ketron SD live station — the SD90 and SD60.
Both products are actually answer to Ketron customers wishes. SD90 is module version of SD9, and SD60 is basically SD9 with 61 keys keyboard and speakers.
