Orla – new brand under our distribution

The pianos of the Italian brand ORLA are now available from FX Music Group. These instruments combine modern technologies with classic sound, which may interest both professional musicians and people learning to play the piano.

ORLA pianos are instruments built with comfort of play and faithful reproduction of sound in mind. The “hammer graded action” keyboard provides realistic feelings during playing, resembling the operation of a traditional acoustic piano. This is especially important for people who need an instrument with the right dynamics, allowing for the free expression of musical emotions.

Thanks to the availability of these pianos on the Polish market, musicians gain new options when it comes to choosing an instrument that combines solid workmanship with modern technical solutions. ORLA is a brand that has been successfully operating on the market for years, and the door-to-door service provides users with a sense of security and ease in solving any technical problems. New PRS left-handed guitars to be released in Autumn

New PRS left-handed guitars to be released in Autumn

This fall will bring fans of the PRS Guitars brand the opportunity to choose from several versions of popular models, adapted to the needs of left-handed users. The new guitars will feature unique features and aesthetics designed to meet the specific needs of left-handed musicians.

New features include left-handed versions of the PRS SE Silver Sky model, which was launched in 2018 in collaboration with John Mayer. This model is recognized for its design features such as the bolt-on neck and three single 635JM “S” pickups. The PRS SE Silver Sky “Lefty” will be available in two fingerboard options: rosewood and maple. The first one is offered in Moon White, Piano Black, Stone Blue and Storm Gray colors. The second option, with a maple fingerboard, will be presented in Overland Gray, Nylon Blue and Summit Purple.

The second model to gain a left-handed version is the PRS SE Zach Myers. The model, a collaboration with longtime PRS artist Zach Myers, debuted in 2010. The left-handed version of this semi-acoustic guitar with a mahogany body and flamed maple veneer will be available in the classic and recognizable Myers Blue color, as well as matching headstock veneer. These guitars are a response to the growing demand among left-handed guitarists who are looking for instruments with high sound quality and comfort of use. PRS continues its commitment to providing products that are not only high quality, but also tailored to the needs of all musicians, regardless of preferred playing hand.

PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin: Most affordable PRS guitar!

PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin: Most affordable PRS guitar!

PRS has revealed a new model of the PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin electric guitar, which arouses great interest among guitarists. The extremely affordable price makes it the best entry point into the PRS brand. But does this also mean a big compromise? It looks like not!

The CE family of guitars has been an integral part of PRS history since their first introduction in 1988. Now, in 2024, the PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin becomes the most affordable guitar in the CE series – approximately 575 euros at launch! This guitar, like many other models in the SE line, was a passion project of Jack Higginbotham, PRS Chief Operating Officer.

“It is difficult to briefly describe SE CE 24 Standard Satin. The price of this guitar suggests that it is probably a great beginner guitar – it is. But I imagine for some this also means that it lacks certain qualities – it doesn’t. This guitar is full of the attention to detail that has gone into the SE series: the neck, pickups, playability and feel are pure PRS. Furthermore, this new satin finish makes the guitar very vibrant since it is so thin, but it is also extremely durable so it can withstand some abuse. It’s the quintessential player’s guitar.” – comments Jack Higginbotham

Specifications

The PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin features a mahogany body, a bolt-on maple neck and a 10-inch radius rosewood fingerboard with signature PRS Bird inlays. All of these features are typical of the more expensive PRS Core models, making these guitars an attractive choice at a much lower price. Available colors include Vintage Cherry, Turquoise and Charcoal, which look elegant with matching black plastics and nickel-plated hardware. PRS claims that the thin satin finish ensures the instrument’s high resonance, while the semi-matte finish of the maple neck ensures comfortable playing.

Pickups and hardware

These models feature 85/15 “S” humbucking pickups, controlled by a volume knob, tone knob with push/pull function, and a 3-position pickup switch. This is a typical PRS arrangement, proven to provide a versatile sound. Hardware also includes special PRS-designed tuners and a patented tremolo system, providing a solid setup that can withstand heavy use.

Final thoughts

Considering all this information, it’s hard not to be impressed with the new model, especially considering its price. The guitar will certainly be a tasty treat for both gigging musicians and those starting their adventure with electric. All we can do is wait for availability in Poland and the final price.

New PRS SE CE 24 guitars

New PRS SE CE 24 guitars

PRS expands its Korean guitar catalog with three new models. PRS SE CE 24, SE Swamp Ash Special and SE Custom 24 Quilt are an interesting proposition for both fans of modern designs and PRS classics.

PRS SE CE 24 refers to the legendary CE 24, i.e. a design from 1988. Just like the original, it has a mahogany body with a maple top and a rosewood fingerboard. The SE CE 24, like the SE Swamp Ash Special model, is equipped with a new way of connecting the neck to the body, providing greater comfort in accessing high frets. The guitar is equipped with a set of PRS 85/15 “S” pickups and is available in the following colors: Black Cherry, Blood Orange, Turquoise, Vintage Sunburst.

The SE Swamp Ash Special, on the other hand, is, as the name suggests, an instrument made of swamp ash (body) and maple (fretboard). “Under the hood” there is a duo of 85/15 “S” humbuckers and an AS-01 Single Coil “S” single. Color versions available: Charcoal, Iri Blue and Vintage Sunburst.

The last of the new models is the SE Custom 24 Quilt. This mahogany monster is decorated with maple veneer (top and headstock) and the fingerboard is made of beautiful ebony. Available color versions are: Black Gold Burst, Turquoise, and Violet.

PRS Guitars Celebrates 35th Anniversary with New Models, New Finish, and New TCI-Tuned Pickups

PRS Guitars Celebrates 35th Anniversary with New Models, New Finish, and New TCI-Tuned Pickups

2020 will mark PRS Guitars 35th Anniversary, and the celebration has already started with recent introductions to the SE Series and new artist model announcements. Today, PRS Guitars is pleased to continue that celebration with the addition of three 35th Anniversary models and several updates to its Maryland-made guitar lines, including TCI-tuned pickups, a new nitro finish, as well as significant updates to the McCarty family of instruments.

Celebrate the PRS Sound: 35th Anniversary Custom 24 Models

PRS Guitars is celebrating 35 years of guitar making and innovation with three new 35th Anniversary Custom 24 models in its Core, S2 Series, and SE Series line ups. Designed around the guitar that started it all, the Custom 24, these limited-edition models capture the foundational elements of the iconic PRS model and add the musical functionality of the Paul’s Guitar, creating a new, versatile platform. The 35th Anniversary Custom 24 models feature TCI (or TCI “S”) treble and bass pickups that are paired with two mini-toggle switches that allow players to put either or both pickups in humbucking or true single-coil mode. The clarity and unique tone of these vintage-inspired pickups is both big and nuanced, so players can easily find their sweet spot.

“35 years…it’s special what is going on at PRS right now, and we wanted to capture that by celebrating the guitar that helped put us on the map: the Custom 24. These models have new special pickups and switching system, and they sound and play great. The humbuckers are balanced, and the single coils are musical and full,” said Paul Reed Smith.

It’s All in the Details: TCI-Tuned Pickups and Nitro Finish

Paul Reed Smith is known as a man who studies history, scrutinizes the details, and never stops applying what he learns to his own instruments. It is that passion, care, and tenacity that has permeated PRS Guitars’ culture and led to the constant evolution of PRS products. Last year, PRS announced TCI (tuned capacitance and inductance) pickups on the Paul’s Guitar. But, TCI is more than a pickup, it’s a process. That process has now been applied to all PRS pickups offered on our Core line of instruments, with the exception of a few artist Signature models.

“TCI stands for Tuned Capacitance Inductance. When you wind a pickup, the coils are capacitors, resistors, and inductors simultaneously. Our more refined ability to be able to tune those factors is what we have incorporated into TCI pickups,” said Paul Reed Smith. “To our ears, the results are very musical. We are very proud of how far we’ve come in the understanding and making of pickups. It’s been a fun process.”

In preparation for shipping 2020 models, PRS is also updating the finish system in their Maryland factory. PRS has been known to tweak its finish formulations and processes, always looking to provide a great sounding, feeling, and looking guitar while maintaining a repeatable, quality-driven manufacturing process. This new nitro finish is a variation of PRS’s Private Stock high-gloss nitro with a cellulose CAB basecoat. The resulting finish is thin, hard, and clear – all qualities that help make a resonant, musical instrument that feels great.

“When you pick up a guitar with this finish, you can immediately feel that it’s not taking away from the guitar’s energy. It’s feels organic – like a classic, vintage guitar; it’s clear and does not hinder the figure or color of the instrument, and it sinks very little over time.” said Paul Reed Smith.

PRS has begun phasing in this new finish on Core and Bolt-on guitars – all models in these series will be receiving this new finish as of January 1, 2020.

A Return to Roots: The McCarty Family

The McCarty model was first introduced in 1994, embodying the most up-to-date findings from PRS and looking back to the golden age of the guitar. As part of the company’s 35th Anniversary updates, the McCarty family of instruments is going back to its roots. Along with the TCI pickup and finish updates already mentioned, the McCarty will once again feature a one-piece stoptail bridge (the adjustable stoptail bridge will remain an option) and vintage-style tuners. It will also now feature a bone nut. The remaining McCarty instruments (including the McCarty 594, McCarty 594 Singlecut, and McCarty 594 Hollowbody II) will also be updated to vintage-style tuners (they already come standard with two-piece bridges and bone nuts). These updates further align the McCarty family and capture the vintage essence that the McCarty model has always promised.

“One of my sayings is that everything that touches the string is God – well, that’s really the bridge, the nut, and the tuners. So when we went after the McCarty model, that’s where we looked. These updates make a huge difference in the tone. The guitar sustains longer and the tone has more character,” said Paul Reed Smith. “The puzzle pieces all fit together, and there is no compromise to the integrity of the instrument. We’re very happy.”

PRS Guitars with three brand new SE guitars

PRS Guitars with three brand new SE guitars

Extremely valued for the price / quality ratio, the PRS SE series of guitars has just been enriched with three new models. SE Santana Singlecut Trem, SE Schizoid and SE Paul’s Guitar makes the budget catalog of PRS instruments extremely impressive.

PRS Santana Singlecut Trem was created as a result of an interesting coincidence. When Carlos Santana heard the TCI pickups, placed in the 2018 Paul’s Guitar model, he became a huge fan of the sound of this system. He asked for a personalized version of TCI, without the ability to disconnect the coils. In this way, the “S” TCI transducers were created and to take full advantage of their capabilities, Paul Reed Smith decided to look at one of Carlos’s beloved instruments to use it as an inspiration for the Santana Singlecut Trem. This instrument was specially made for the music model Gold Leaf Private Stock. On the Santana Singlecut Trem deck we can also find 24 frets, a 24.75 inch measure and a tremolo bridge. This instrument provides a scale of two full octaves, while giving the comfort of a guitar with a shorter measure.

PRS SE Schizoid is in turn an instrument designed for Jakko Jakszyk from the legendary group King Crimson. Jakko’s story may serve as a script of a good movie: when 11-year-old Jakko heard a neighbor’s song ’21st Century Schizoid Man’ by King Crimson, he became a lover of the group’s creativity. Who would have thought that many years later, he would be standing on stage himself, performing this composition! In 2019, the 50th anniversary of the legendary group falls and on this occasion PRS decided to release a limited edition of one thousand instruments based on the SE Standard 24 model.

PRS SE Paul’s Guitar, like other models in the series signed by Paul, contain the latest achievements in the field of guitar construction. The latest Paul series of guitars is equipped with TCI pickups, delivering unprecedented tonal versatility. The SE Paul’s Guitar model will be available in three different colors: Amber, Aqua and Fire Red.
